"Luke on Hoth" McQuarrie Giclee (19"x 40" Canvas)

"Luke on Hoth" McQuarrie Giclee (19"x 40" Canvas)Few fans are unfamiliar with the work of legendary Star Wars artist Ralph McQuarrie. His production concept paintings for the original Star Wars Trilogy were instrumental in determining the signature look of the saga, a look that has become as classic as the stories themselves. For The Empire Strikes Back, McQuarrie painted several illustrations for the film's thrilling Hoth battle sequence, including this stunning piece depicting Luke's escape from an approaching AT-AT (the film somewhat tightened up the timing of events in this scene -- the AT-AT was virtually on top of Luke in the movie). This wonderful preproduction illustration has been beautifully reproduced by Acme Archives on a generous 19"x40" canvas, and is limited to just 25 pieces. Don't miss this great opportunity to own a spectacular piece of Ralph McQuarrie preproduction art from what many consider the finest chapter in the Star Wars saga!

In 1977, something amazing happened. In a sea of mediocre films, and a world where everyone had certain expectations and beliefs for what could and could not be done in a movie, George Lucas blew the world away with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. People lined up for hours on end just to see what the fuss was about, and for some of them, what they saw changed their lives and the way they look at the world forever.

The movie depicted a struggle between two warring factions. The Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Started from the struggle after a Sith Lord overthrew the Republic, the rebellion has struggled for years, trying to find a way to undermine the all knowing and all seeing Galactic Empire, but to no avail. It would take two more movies to depict the fall of the Empire, and three prequel movies to explain what had just happened.
